According to MONSTAT, the people of Tivci have not divorced since the beginning of the year. Although at the level of the first eight months the natural increase in our city, as in almost all Montenegrin municipalities, was negative, the Tivat population is more numerous by 29 people due to the difference in the number of immigrants and emigrants, according to the report on population movements within Montenegro.
During the first eight months of 2021, 4554 newborns were born in Montenegro, of which 107 in Tivat. Among the total of 5918 deceased, 132 were our fellow citizens, according to the MONSTAT Monthly Statistical Review for October 2021.
For the second year in a row, Montenegro recorded a negative rate of natural increase. In 2020, the Montenegrin population decreased by 198 people, and in 2021 we have a positive trend only in June and July, when the number of births was 67, ie 11 higher than the number of deaths. The lowest rate of natural increase was recorded in March 2021, when 613 people were born and 945 died.
The number of births in relation to the number of deaths in the first eight months of this year was higher only in the municipalities of Budva, Podgorica, Rozaje and Tuzi. In all other cities, we have a negative natural increase, and the situation in Pljevlja is the most worrying, where 95 newborns were born and 378 people died.
Of the 107 babies born in Tivat from the beginning of the year to the end of August, 53 are boys and 54 are girls. During the same period, 73 of our fellow citizens passed away, as well as 59 fellow citizens.
According to the MONSTAT report for the same period, 2,090 marriages were concluded in Montenegro, and 464 divorces were registered. There were no divorces in Tivat from the beginning of the year to the end of August, and 37 marriages were concluded.
According to the report on the movement of population within Montenegro by municipalities, 198 people moved to Tivat from January to the end of September, and 144 emigrated from our city. Considering that the number of deaths is 25 higher than the number of births, we can conclude that Tivat population has increased by 29 people since the beginning of January.
